How HALT Works
HALT's patented GreenFire® formula attacks fire at the molecular level — breaking the fire triangle through advanced wetting, thermal absorption, and persistent vapor barrier technology. 100% PFAS-free, fluorine-free, and phosphorous-free. Peer-reviewed, independently tested, and certified by NSF, UL, GreenScreen, and OMRI.
Three Elements. One Solution.
Every fire requires three elements: fuel, heat, and oxygen. HALT's patented formula attacks all three simultaneously — extinguishing faster and preventing reignition longer than any PFAS-based alternative.
Fuel
HALT's unique surfactant chemistry penetrates porous fuel sources — wood, fabric, cardboard, insulation — coating and sealing the combustible surface to prevent fuel vapor release.
HALT Penetrates & SealsHeat
HALT's aqueous base carries significant heat capacity — rapidly cooling combustion materials to below ignition temperature. The persistent barrier continues absorbing heat after application.
HALT Cools & AbsorbsOxygen
By forming an impenetrable surface coating that does not evaporate, HALT cuts off the oxygen supply to the fuel source — starving the fire and preventing reignition for hours after application.
HALT Seals & StarvesPatented Formula. Proven Performance.
HALT achieves fire suppression through three parallel mechanisms — each addressing a different aspect of the combustion chain reaction.
Surfactant Chemistry
HALT uses biodegradable, fluorine-free surfactants that dramatically reduce the surface tension of water — enabling superior penetration into porous fuel sources at a fraction of the concentration of traditional wetting agents.
Thermal Absorption
The high specific heat capacity of HALT's aqueous base rapidly absorbs thermal energy from combustion, cooling materials below ignition temperature within seconds of application — faster than any PFAS-based alternative in independent testing.
Persistent Barrier
Unlike water or legacy foams that evaporate, HALT's formula absorbs into material fibers and surfaces. The protective barrier does not evaporate — providing lasting protection against reignition for hours after the initial extinguishment.
PFAS-Free Surfactants
Traditional AFFF uses fluorosurfactants (PFAS) that bioaccumulate and persist in the environment for thousands of years. HALT replaces these with biodegradable surfactants that achieve equivalent or superior fire suppression without any persistent environmental impact.
