How to Use HALT

Assess the Situation
Evaluate the type and size of the fire. HALT is designed for small, early-stage fires. If the fire is large or spreading rapidly, evacuate immediately and call 911.
Aim at the Base
Point the nozzle at the base of the fire — where fuel meets flame. HALT's formula penetrates and coats the fuel source to cut off the oxygen supply at its source.
Squeeze & Sweep
